My 2024 so far Mid-Feb - End of March
Mini update on pros & cons of this year so far, which is roughly 23% complete.
This is the only life I've got - you understand? I mean, this is all. And look what's happening to me. I spend most of my time just thinking about how nice things used to be and wondering if they'll ever be nice again.
Hangsaman - Shirley Jackson
Pros
- I have read Hangsaman by Shirley Jackson, as well as Misery by Stephen King — The next few books are ready!
- I also tried to listen to an audiobook, The hitchhikers guide to the galaxy, but I struggle to get into audiobooks. Love podcasts however!
- I went to Belfast with work for 2 weeks ; I deployed over 600 laptops & spent a lot of time with staff I rarely see.
- I have maintained drinking less caffeinated-drinks — The withdrawal is still kicking my ass.
- The games I'm playing are ones I have wanted to play for a long time & I only play for about 2 hours a week now.
- I have bought a new car, and finished setting up items for Baby 3.
- I have taken up the budget again more seriously, something I haven't touched for over 7 months.
- I have acknowledged that I may actually be suffering from depression quite badly again, if this isn't obvious in my previous writing.
- I passed my ITIL 4 DPI Exam
Cons
I haven't improved much on my smartphone usage. Instagram is gone, FB is next on the chopping block.
I haven't done most items on my accountability plan — working on this slowly.
I haven't studied much for the other exam I need to study for yet.
A lot of DIY projects have stopped.
I am still so bitterly isolated in my head, and feel so incredibly lonely. My imposter syndrome, and certain bleak thoughts, are at an all-time high. And I am only able to address that in the words I type here.
That's all I've got for now, friends.
See you star side. I still love you.
Lost, but surviving.
